Beaufort has some of the oldest housing stock we work on, and old concrete needs a different approach than a new slab. Tonny preps for what is actually under your feet instead of coating over problems.
A garage slab poured in the 1970s has spent fifty years absorbing moisture, shifting, and picking up oil. It usually has hairline cracks, a worn surface, and sometimes a layer of old paint or sealer that failed years ago. None of that means it cannot be coated. It means the prep matters more than the coating does.
Tonny diamond grinds every floor down to clean, open concrete before anything else happens. On older Beaufort slabs that step often takes longer than the coating itself, and it is the single biggest reason a floor lasts instead of peeling in two years.
Between MCAS Beaufort and Parris Island, a lot of our Beaufort calls come with a moving date attached. Polyaspartic cures fast enough to park on in about a day, which makes it the practical choice when you are trying to finish a project before orders take you somewhere else. Tell Tonny your deadline up front and he will tell you honestly whether it fits.
Yes. Hairline cracks and small spalled areas get routed out, filled with a rigid patching compound, and ground flush before coating. Cracks wider than about a quarter inch, or cracks with a height difference between the two sides, usually mean the slab is still moving. Tonny will tell you that during the estimate rather than coating over it and hoping.
Salt air does not attack a cured epoxy or polyaspartic film directly. The real issue near the water is moisture moving up through the slab from below, which pushes on the coating from underneath and can cause bubbling or delamination. Tonny tests older slabs for moisture before quoting, and uses a moisture-tolerant primer when the reading calls for it.
Yes. Detached structures are common in older Beaufort neighborhoods and they coat the same way an attached garage does. The one difference is temperature. An unconditioned detached space can swing widely in summer, so Tonny schedules those installs for the part of the day when the slab temperature is inside the product's range.
